Please join us for a virtual tasting experience of a lifetime!

During your virtual tasting experience, you will taste three of the Wagner Family of wines with your wine educator. Each wine has a special story and meaning so please feel free to explore the wines below in the order you will taste them.

2021 Mer Soleil Chardonnay Reserve
Santa Lucia Highland Monterey County: Aroma of baked Croissants, apricot and honeysuckle with a palate that is round and creamy with notes of lemon squares. This Chardonnay pairs well with pan seared Chilean sea bass, fresh crab cakes or creamy fettuccine alfredo.

Red Schooner Voyage 11 Malbec
Argentina: Grapes are grown and harvested in the Andes Mountains in Mendoza Argentina. Once harvest occurs, the fruit is chilled and transported by ocean voyage to Caymus where we employ our tried-and-true wine making techniques to make this Malbec. Notes of baking chocolate, broken- in leather and smoked meat. This wine has flavors of plum and a light note of baking chocolate with well-rounded tannins.

2020 Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon
Napa Valley: Characteristically and aromatically flamboyant Caymus style- nose of French oak barrel and cassis-like tones of ripeness, saddle leather and espresso. This wine’s palate is full and rich with an abundance of soft tannins and a hint of rustic grittiness. Youthfully energetic and eminently enjoyable now,

Chuck Wagner and his late parents, Lorna and Charlie, started Caymus Vineyards in 1972. They were a family of farmers with roots in the Napa Valley dating back to the 1850’s. Today, the family’s two Cabernet Sauvignons- Caymus Napa Valley and Caymus Special Selection- are among the region’s most celebrated wines. Chuck now works alongside two of his children, Charlie and Jenny, and the family produces diverse wines from Napa Valley, other parts of California and beyond. Continually pursuing new ideas, they feel extremely fortunate to spend their days farming grapes and making wine.
