FOF is designed for senior finance professionals—CFOs, Controllers, and VPs of Finance—who currently provide consulting or advisory services to organizations.

In collaboration with the Arizona, San Francisco and Sacramento chapters this group offers an informal yet highly valuable exchange of ideas, challenges, and solutions among experienced finance leaders. 

Participants raise real-time issues drawn from current client situations and exchange practical solutions, best practices, and trusted referrals. The opportunity to learn from peers while sharing practical, real-world lessons is one of the most impactful benefits of participation.

Past discussions have included topics such as:
•    Accounting systems for small businesses
•    PEO advantages and challenges
•    Compensation approaches for small company board members
•    ASC 606 audit experiences
•    Measurement and internal reporting methodologies for SaaS companies

I have been an FEI Silicon Valley member for a while now, and am currently an officer, but one of the events I enjoy the most is our regular Financial Officer’s Forum.  In collaboration with the Arizona, San Francisco and Sacramento chapters, this Affinity Group brings together senior finance professionals in an informal exchange of issues, ideas and solutions that my peers may have encountered in their own professional experience.  More than many other venues, this ability to share collective experience provides an invaluable opportunity to both learn from others and share my own lessons in practical contexts.  Above all, this is one of the benefits I value the most from my FEI membership and participation!
